Jandira Martini was born on July 10, , in Santos, Brazil.
Her parents were Alfredo Lalia, a jeweler, and Jandira Jão, a housewife. Martini studied Literature at the Catholic University of Santos before pursuing a degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of São Paulo. She also became friends with Ney Latorraca in her youth, who helped reignite her passion for theater after she experienced a setback in acting.
