Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa was appointed professor of Sikh Studies at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles to teach the Sikh study Punjabi courses staring on September, After her appointment, she visited the Sikh Temple at Santa Ana Orange County, California to meet and greet the Sikh Community at large & to exchange ideas and views before starting the program.

 Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa’s  parents adopted the Sikh religion, became family of Kundalini Yogis, and she was born in She became a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher at the young age of thirteen.

In , she left for India and graduated from Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar. She had a wonderful teacher and master, Narinder Singh Sandhu at the school to teach her “Raag”  and Classical Indian Music. She learned eastern music theory, along with how to open her voice and sing from a deep place with a full voice.

She has a deep understanding of the Shabad Guru.

She did her PhD in Renaissance of Sikh Devotional Music ( Kirtan &  Gurbani ) from University of Michigan.

 As Nirinjan grew up, she remembers accompanying her mother to different events, kirtans, or classes, where her mother would teach and sing. Her father, Hari Singh Khalsa, is a music producer, and helped Guru Raj Kaur with much of her music production.
